#36 - Summer Writing Reflections

Hello Everyone!,

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer. I know I am! I’ve been doing a lot of chores around the house, drinking some wonderful coffee and tea, plus playing some great games! It’s been a wonderful summer so far.

Anyways, the question I wanted to tackle with you all is: What is the Optimal Amount of Writing Time that Humans should do each day? And I started thinking about this while working on my own major writing project. In the past though, especially when I worked on programming projects I always felt like 90 minutes was the least amount of time someone needed to get going on a project and 3 hours was the maximum amount of time people needed to get going on projects.

If someone could write for 90 minutes, take a short break or maybe even eat breakfast, and then write for another 90 minutes each day, then I think they would be making great progress. I like to think of this in terms of soccer matches in a way too. Ninety minutes is how much I would spend on each session every time I sat down. That way, major progress is being made on a daily level.

Not only that, but I think mornings are paramount to getting work done. One HAS to wake up early to implement this technique and If one is waking up early then one has to go to bed early. This usually entails not drinking caffeine in the evenings past five and not on screens past 9 o’ clock. One has to eventually tone it down and drift off to bed.

Anyways, those are my thoughts! Have a great summer!
