#51 - Yearbook Progress and Artwork
Hello Readers!
This week I’ve been doing a lot of artwork for a Yearbook Class that I’ve been teaching. Teaching Yearbook this year has taught me a lot about Graphic Design. Not only that, but I have become a better artist myself. Our yearbook theme this year is a Retro Video Game theme, but of course I’m incorporating some of my favorite games. This year, the yearbook will be inspired from the following franchises:
-The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Minecraft
-Pokemon
-Mario Kart
-Super Mario Brothers
Not only that, but I want to incorporate some other classic game franchises. I think it would be neat to have some of these:
-Starfox
-Space Invaders
-Frogger
-Tetris
-Pacman
-Minesweeper
-Donkey Kong
-Pong
-Street Fighter
And that’s all I can think of for now. I always thought that video games and the experiences we have in them, can not only be beneficial for personal development, but also spark creativity and problem solving. The most famous of all these enabling this is of course Minecraft. And I wanted to bring this fascination to the Yearbook project that I have been assigned this year. It’s going really well, and I’m excited to create the yearbook!
I think I’m going to be enabling the portfolio or showcase tab to my website. I forgot what I called it and I will be adding my artwork to it. I think it would be nice to have a showcase of things that I create throughout the years. I’ll make my latest creation the thumbnail for this post and I will go ahead and add the artwork later.
Anyways, have a great start of November!
