#52 - Artistic and Learning Integrity

Good Morning Readers,

Lately, I have been doing a lot of work for my Yearbook project that I’ve been assigned at the school that I work at. It has required me to reach above and beyond my creative abilities to produce pieces of art that represent iconic video games and gaming experiences. In short, our Yearbook is going to be video game themed this year!

With that said, I’ve been instilling in my students that the best type of art is the one that shows your personality. That is because art is about personality not perfection. It’s not about that, but it’s been a lot of fun making paintings, objects, typography, and more for the yearbook. Our next yearbook will definitely have a lot of personality that’s for sure.

With all of this in mind, I can’t help thinking that the learning process could be just as creative or just as fun. I do believe that we in essence, as humans, have to create our knowledge experiences in some way. There has to be some sort of creative component. It cannot all be standardized and a universal process for everyone.

Anyways, on a side note, today was an interesting day because Starbucks is giving away Holiday Drink containers today. So since I’m already taking care of a newborn at that time, I rushed over to my nearest Starbucks, purchased two holiday drinks, and I got the two holiday cups for free. Pretty awesome! I just get a thrill out of beating crowds and getting rewarded for waking up or arriving early to places. It’s just fun. It’s the same kind of thrill I received, when my family and I went to Universal Studios in California last year. There was droves of people all showing up an hour after we got there.

Well have a great week! Turkey day is just around the corner!
